Nottingham City Leisure Centres have a number of exciting opportunities for Swimming Instructors and successful applicants will join teams working across the city to deliver high quality lessons.

Nottingham Swim School is Nottingham City Council’s Learn to swim programme for babies, children and adults and includes all ability levels. We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic, knowledgeable and qualified swim instructors (both Level 1 and 2) to join our existing team of Swim Instructors across the city of Nottingham. Nottingham Swim School operates from 7 pool facilities across the City and we have various hours across our centres.

Nottingham Swim School follow’s the Amateur Swimming Association’s Learn to Swim Framework. This provides a great structure of Awards for swimmers as they progress through the levels. We offer both group and 121 lessons. Our level 1 instructor’s support the lessons at an entry level including the pre-school and stage 1 lesson by being in the water.

We require applicants to hold the Amateur swimming association Level 2 swim teachers’ qualification, STA teacher’s award or equivalent. A Lifeguard qualification is preferable but can be gained within the first 3 months of employment.  You will be required to produce appropriate session plans ensuring classes are progressive, motivating, inclusive and adequate for the level and needs of the group. You will be a positive role model and have the ability to create an environment in which to motivate and encourage people to participate.

- Level 2 swim teachers qualification

- Experience of organising, promoting, coaching & leading sports activities for children and young people.

- Ability to motivate supervise and lead staff to deliver high quality activities.

- To be understanding, approachable and able to appreciate the needs of children and young people.

This post is the subject to a DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity.
